I need help with Watchmen and its hidden meanings?
I just finished reading watchmen, by alan moore, and noticed a lot of things that i didn't fully understand. DONT read farther unless your have finished because i dont want to spoil anything. Why does Rorschach is eating things, like a raw egg, and in the end he eats a sugar cube? What is the comedians outlook on society? why is the smiley face the last thing in the book? why do they say the doomsday clock is set five minutes til twelve always, even when the current time is days later in his journal? what is the significance of watches, and the reoccurring time of 11:25? what does it mean when they say "who watches the watchmen?"does Rorshach's facial expressions ever mean anything or create a hidden picture?what is that whole deal with the couple's shadow, aside from Nite owl and Silk spectre?what is ozzy's building in antartica?who is your favorite character? if you can answer any or all of the questions, it would be greatly appreciated.

A significant symbol is the Gordian Knot logo which is a big hint of things to come in the graphic novel and germane to the plot's denouement .

"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes - Who watches the watchmen" is an allusion to just who is responsible for the oversight of the guardian watchman , i.e. the 'superheroes'.

I adore Watchmen. It's my absolute most favorite graphic novel.
My favorite character is Nite Owl II. He's a bit of a geek, but I tend to like geeks.
I can't wait till the movie comes out. I'm going to go see it the day it comes out. In IMAX of course.
