HELP! What is the voice plugin used in techno/electronic music?
I need this effect for a project quick! It's used by HelloGoodbye, Shiny Toy Guns, Leiadorus, on the voice to make it more robotic and electronic, especially when a male is singing. Its like a voice processor or something. Where can I get it or especially where can a download it for a program like Cubase???
What you're looking for is called a vocoder, which takes an audio input, slices it into X number of frequency bands and makes that juicy sound. Here's a starter link:

Most of the freeware versions are pretty basic. You'll have to pay a little something for a better one, but as long as its VST compatible, any version of Cubase from Cubasis VST on up will do the trick. You'll probably get what you need from a freebie. Good luck!
