Can I wear a short sleeve dress shirt to a "semi formal" dinner?
My friend is having an anniversary dinner on Friday and I was invited. It's just a dinner at a restaurant. I'm wearing black dress pants and dress shoes and I have to wear a white dress shirt. Can it be short sleeve or is that bad?

Short Sleeve Shirt: Casual Wear Or Work Wear?
There are some shirt types that can fit the bill for many different occasions and activities. They can look good with casual clothes and they can look okay when you wear them with business clothes. Such is the functionality of the short sleeve shirt. They tend to look great when you are going for the business casual look but don't quite pull it off if you are going for the business or formal look so you need to know when to wear them. You can wear these in many different places and still look very well. There are quite a few different looks you can get wearing this shirt.
The typical short sleeve shirt is usually a button down one that is worn either in or out of slacks depending on the look you want. In some cases the shirt might not be a button down but instead can be a crew neck that you slip over your head. Additionally there are some shirts that have the three button look down the front. The shirts are very versatile and are able to be transformed into one look or another. In addition, they come in a great number of styles and colors, further giving more versatility to them.
With diversity comes changeability. The color palate that is available for the short sleeve shirt will allow you just about any choice as you would want as a customer.
