What are the numbers associated with men's shirt sizes?
I need to buy a few formal shirts (something I usually just guessed at size wise). On the tags of most men's shirts I see a large number on top (16 in this case) then two numbers below that (31-32 in this case). What do these numbers mean? I assume 16 is neck size...I'm 5'8, 150 lbs and need something that fits more to me and not so large. Thanks
The 16 is the neck size. Just measure your neck. If you wear a tie, you have to button the shirt @ the neck. If it's too small, you can't button the shirt. If it's too big, it looks funny.
The other number is the sleeve length.
If you want a tight fitting shirt, you need to find one that has a "Slim" cut, or "Fitted"
When buying a dress shirt, only buy long sleeve, and 100% cotton. Perm Press or poly is crap! There is no such thing as a "short sleeve dress shirt!)
