Lord Jesus, God, Me, and Fashion?
hi. My names kevin. And I'm a proud christian. I own a few chains with Jesus Christ on them. Jesus Christ is the pendant on the chains. My question is, is it okay to wear these chains inside my shirt? I'm just curious because sometimes I get the feeling that it's bad, because it blinds jesus from seeing the world or im suffocating him because the chain's inside my shirt. The only reason why I wear my chains inside my shirt is because I don't like people to think too much of me or really know too much about me. I will highly regard your opinions.
Well Kevin I don't see how you can imagine that you would somehow suffocate or prevent the Lord Jesus Christ from seeing the world around you when he is the eternal all knowing and all seeing God. Still, because you asked I feel compelled to answer your question. Many people wear some form of jewelry that in one way or another identifies them with their faith, this is not a sin although in the Holy Bible it is implied that one should dress modestly, it warns against wearing to much gold and fine clothes. The reason for this of course is because faith is not something that you can wear or that you should adorn yourself with externally, but rather it is something you carry around on the inside. So when we dress, if we dress to flashy, it becomes obvious by our exterior appearance that we might be shallow. Of course this doesn't mean we cannot have nice things, or if ones job requires it that we cannot dress smartly. It's just suggested that we dress modestly as our appearance is also a testimony of how the Lord Jesus Christ has changed our lives. I hope this has answered your question.
