I need some help on how to tie dye?
I know this is a bit lengthy but pleaaaaaaaase read!
Tomorrow i am going to tie dye a white shirt into a rainbow spiral
but i am a bit confused about one thing. I bought powder dye which comes in 14 gram sachets but it has no info on how much water i should dissolve it in or anything so can anyone answer that and also there are so many how to tie dye instructions but they are all different so what im thinking of doing is first spray a bit of water onto the shirts, then form them into the spiral pattern and securely tie rubber bands etc etc and then i will have 3 tubs of dye, red yellow and blue and i will dip a third of the circle into each colour so that it slightly overlaps and has the rainbow but i don't know how long to leave it in or does it matter since im going to leave it to sit for 24 hours before rinsing the shirt?
Im not sure how much water to add to your powder mix. Im pretty sure that you shouldn't have to leave it in the dye very long, as it will sit afterwards. Other then that, sounds about right. Good Luck.
