Is it possible to screw up the heater/air conditioner if its left on for too long at 80 degrees?
....because thats what exactly I did. When I came home, the thermostat(digital, which doesnt need bateries) wont even turn on. Now I'm freezing my ass off. Anyone got an idea whats wrong?
Check the main unit....there is a fan that forces the air to all the rooms...there is a reset button on it...this is a devise that shuts the system if the motor gets too hot....the thermostat that you have described is a type that just tells the system to come on...and if the reset has gone off then it won't work...also check your Curcuit Breaks...find the one for the Heat & Air...if the breaker got too hot from running the system too much this would also keep the system from working....good luck
