another win for our people's champ...what's your reaction?
It does not put any money in my pocket. I will wake up Monday morning and my life will continue as it was before the fight. I am not complaining because I have a good life, but Manny's fights do nothing for me.
I guess Manny will buy another expensive car before he returns to the Philippines and give an American Dealership the profit and not a Filipino Dealership back home. I guess he will spend $6000 on clothes at one check out counter in another American Department store instead of giving a Filipino Department store or tailor a chance to make a few pesos.
I am sure that Manny really gives a lot of thought to the people struggling to survive back home when he wins a fight in Las Vegas. The peoples champ should demand that once in awhile the fights be held in the Philippines so it would truly benifit the people and boost the economy. The only ones flying to Vegas for the fights are Philippine politicians. The true Filipino is trying to hover around a television in a mall to see the Peoples Champ fight. He does not insist on the fights being in the Philippines because he is more interested in the Win/Loss purse being the biggest it can be to benifit him. He is not concerned with the benifits a fight in the Philippines would do for the economy of the Philippines.
Sorry I just am not all that impressed. Someone had to win and I am glad it was a Filipino but I could care less if it was Manny or not. I would prefer someone with more morals. As far as all boxers being immoral that is not so George Foreman, Sugar Ray, and many other great boxers lived moral lives. Morality is a choice.
He is such a National Hero - Champ that when he ran for public office the people from his distirct that knew him best did not elected him to Congress. They must not believe he has their interest at heart so why should I.

Speculations on Marquez vs Mayweather fight
The boxing fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez on September 19, 2009 is anticipated because of many speculations among the two boxing champs. It was known that the fight was moved from July 18 because Mayweather suffered from injury and the two sides decided to postpone the date.
"Trust me, September 19 is a great weekend for boxing, and all of my fans, of which there are many Mexicans too, can certainly hold on to their hats and sombreros when I get back in to the ring and show them what they have been missing these past 18 months. I will destroy Marquez and reclaim my rightful place as boxing's pound-for-pound king all in one night. Don't miss it", the former pound-for-pound best fighter said in an interview. Apparently, our very own Manny Pacquiao grabbed him the title in boxing history.
Then, who has the upper hand to be the winner on September 19 fight?
As speculated by boxing analyst and fans, the two fighters will have sharp edges and predictable results. Following their records, Mayweather's average weight for his last five fights is 147.2 lb (66.9 kg) while Marquez's average weight for his last five fights is 131.5 lb (59.8 kg). Both fighters have started at lower weight divisions and have come up in weight over the years. Marquez is coming up 2 weight divisions for this fight.
Mayweather's inactivity or what they call "Ring Rust"is not a big factor. History has proven that ring rust is not a big factor for all boxing fighters. Ring rust is a general term but the factors that really contribute to it are time they are away from the ring and how the fighter treats his body in between fights and other factors involving brain damage.
The training of the two boxers contributes a lot to the fight and it determines many speculations. The fight has been delayed due to an injury involving Floyd's rib cartilage. Marquez increased in weight and if he will have the speed and stamina to gather points against the Mayweather it would be interesting to see. But most rumors said preparations for both Marquez and Mayweather are going well.
The fight will go distance in between rounds and as speculations see this fight as not whether Marquez can win, but can Mayweather lose?
Mayweather's style and natural ability are almost impossible to beat. This combined with his selection of opponents in the past have made him a pretty boring fighter to watch in the past. A 100% prepared Mayweather will beat a 100% prepared Marquez any day of the week. However, the X factors of this fight; possible ring rust, Mayweather's state of mind and preparation distractions may mean that he may not come into the fight 100%. Even with these factors going against Mayweather, his ability will pull him through with a tough but deserved win.
