HOW ABOUT THE COP'S NAME IN THE CARTOON MAGILLA GORILLA?
he would always catch with the kid and magilla then take him back to mr. peebles at the pet shop
His name is Chris.
Does anyone else think that the popular "Hanna-barbera" cartoon shows from the 60's & 70's were racist?
I have asked this question before at other websites. The main shows I'm talking about are "Yogi Bear", "Scooby-Doo", "Hong Kong Phooey", "Magilla Gorilla" and a few others.
You don't have to be high on weed to see how stereotypical these shows are.
By the way, I never liked any of those shows. The 90 degree angle character animation is real cheesy.

Oh, yeah! Jose & The Pussycats was pretty suggestive for a young boy like me at the time. OMG...am I a perv?
I'm sorry, I don't see it. Unless you're saying that the animals were supposed to represent members of certain ethnic groups, just based on their names. But I never saw that, and I still don't. Yogi Bear, after all, had his name based on Yogi Berra. Magilla Gorilla was just a rhyme (They also had Squiddly Diddly). Hong Kong Phooey was a parody of the kung fu movies that were popular at the time, along with being one of their comedy super heroes. And Scooby Doo was just a stoned dog.
