How do you confront someone with alcohol and drug problems?
Well ... my friend is a heavy drinker Since 14 years old and now shes 20!
we arent that close anymore... and she can be a bitch(sorry) but now shes doing tabs and takes like more than 10 a day!!! im not kidding! she used them for her ankle when she had surgery but i know shes addicted!!!! im scared for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!! idk wat to do! she drinks almost every night! She thinks its cool!
shes an awesome girl! and i lover her! but we arent close enough to the point were i can flat tell her this!
how do i go about this?
Is her family aware of the problem? You should probably get family and friends involved and do an "intervention". At the very least, just tell her you are concerned and be prepared to tell her why. Let her know all the ways you have noticed her life and personality change and how it could be different. Have resources ready for her: literature, places she can turn to for help or counseling, etc. Be prepared for the fact that she may be resentful and angry. It may help if you talk to someone first to know how to do this. Call a local chapter of al-anon (for children/friends of alcoholics) and they can probably refer you to someone.
