What's a good brand of dog food for small breed dogs?
I have a jack russell terrier he's a year old now what's a good brand of dry or wet dog food for my little high energy dog?
Yu do not want to feed wet food all the time, I prefer never, it destroys a dogs teeh and gums, it's wet, and it sticks to the teeth, is not good for a dog at all.
Now, stay away from any store bought brands, they are junk, like the
Beneful
Purina anything is just horrible
Pedigree
Ole Roy
And store bought brand is full of by products, fillers, wheat, corn and meal and just pure junk of food.
And also, the following has been proven for lots of years to be bad on a dogs intestinal tract...really bad. and the only reason Vets recommend these brands, well the dog food companies pay them to sell them from their clinic or to recommend them, yes vets get paid to recommend this junk.

They are not good for a dog, I belong to 5 dog clubs, large clubs and not one or our members feed any of these, they are just not good for a dog, long term feeding of Science Diet has produced intestinal damage, yes it has......
Now, the following are really good dog foods, I am give you the cheapest to the highest in cost, and you decide on which you should get, but remember, you should always read the complete ingredients label on all dry dog foods, if meat is not number one on the list, walk away......comepletly read the labels please.

Taste of the Wild, I feed the Roasted Bison and Venison, they ahve lots of fomulas,......
Taste of the Wild did have a small recall of the Salmon formula, it got mixed with another formula, but has since been taken care of, this was last month on it.
My dogs love it and it really does the coat and skin so nice, never flaky, and coats just shine.
But with any dog food, the ingredients label should come first when choosing one.
And to correct things, a Raw Diet for dogs is really terific, I just choose not to do it, one for the time consuming of it.....I have 4 dogs now, 1-Min Schnauzer, 2 Akita's and 1 Newfoundland, they love the TOTW, and I have been feeding it for a year now.
I use to feed Nutro Max, but quickly changed last year, when they changed the formula and did not let anyone know, my Demon got really sick on it and so did alot of dogs Nation wide.....
We have alot of people in my dog clubs that still feed it...I had fed it to all my dogs for over 15 yrs and never a problem till last year, and that has been corrected as well.
Please make sure you choose a good food for your baby, it will keep the dog so healthy and the coat and skin is so important and a good dog food should be fed.
Depending on your budget, you may decide on one like Blue Buffalo, and it is a good food as well, it can be bought at Pets Mart.
Be very careful buying dog food at Petco, as they have been known to sell outdated bags of food, just again be sure to read the expiration date as well...make sure any dog good you buy is well within the months before it expires...like a good 5-8 months away from the date for it to be taken back off the shelf.
I also feed my dogs boiled white meat chicken boneless with rice, they all love that as well, always boneless and always cook to be super tender, so the chicken is good and done.
Is your dog on Pets Tab Plus, it should be, it really helps the dog to get the nutrient it needs.....and Heart Guard Plus Chewables, once a month, this prevents heartworms and hook worms as well.
