The Start of Baseball Uniforms
Baseball jerseys customs are used in order to set the individuality of each team within the game. Without uniform, baseball fans will not recognize their favorite team and the excitement of the game will be lost. Modern style uniforms nowadays have special name of the team, number as well as the name of each player. This adds to the identity of each player plus the identity of each team. Because today, most fans have their own individual bet player. Baseball uniforms are not only about t-shirts and shorts. To be able to complete a whole baseball uniform, you need to have cap, socks, pants, gloves and bat. All of these gears are needed to be able for a baseball player to play in for a tournament or major league. Here are some important facts that all baseball player should know about their favorite sport.
- How does baseball custom uniforms started? The uniforms for baseball games were first introduce by New York knickerbockers during the year of 1849. Baseball pants during that time were made from wool. The players also wear flannel shirts as well as straw hats. Wearing a uniformed outfit was taken place by 1900 major league baseball teams. They all wore the same uniform.
- During that time, those players wearing this uniforms also wears stockings. This stocking should cover the whole leg of the player from their foot up to their knee. There are also diverse colors as well as styles of uniforms were used to be able to show the differences between each team. The differentiation between the home and the road team was separated by using two different uniforms by the end of the century.
- From this century, baseball uniforms begun to evolve. Each team begun to make, conceptualize and design their uniforms to make it very unique. This is for the fans to distinguish their team from other team. Some teams also started to have pinned stripping, this is for the fans to see the differences even at a bigger venue like stadium. These innovations were made for the benefit of the fans and to create definite identity of each team.
- During older times, numbers was not being used on baseball custom uniforms, it was just until 1916. The Cleveland Indians first used numbers on their custom uniforms. By the year 1932, all major league baseball team had their number. Until the year 1952, it was Brooklyn Dodgers team which first place their numbers at the front of their uniforms.
- Logos are used at the start of baseball game. These logos are used to be able to identify each team. Modern day uniforms and custom shorts have pictures logos.
Uniforms are being used by many sport events today and every sporting tournament will not be completed without showcasing the uniqueness and the beauty of each uniform. All teams should have their own unique baseball jerseys to be bale for their fans to cheer their team and to identify each team on the field while playing
