Dead Broncos Cheerleader Outfit ideas?

Ok this is what I'm wearing:

What I want to do is have a football sticking out of my head! Lol, that sounds SO weird. Anyways....you know how there will be those headbands that make it look like you have an axe sticking out of your head? Well, I want a football sticking out of my head. How on earth am I going to do that? That's why I'm asking you guys! :D . I'm also wondering if you have any other ideas...for example... what should I add to my costume?

buy a football
cut it in half
buy a wire type of thing (or something like the plastic that is in hairbands) and glue each side of this wire-like thing to one side of the football, and wear it like a hairband (but it will then look like a football sticking out of your head)
