Can you help raise Leukaemia awareness?
My daughter Mia was diagnosed with leukaemia in September, just 1 week before her 3rd birthday. I was totally shocked and cannot believe how poor my knowledge of childhood leukaemia was. so I am writing her leukaemia diary at www.everybodylovesmia.co.uk and am welcoming visitors who are keen to raise awareness or learn a bit more about this cancer and the effect on family life. Finding out you or a loved one has leukaemia can be devastating. I was diagnosed 3 weeks before I got married. I had to cancel my honeymoon and consider if we could ever start a family on top of coping with the disease.
Raising awareness, like you are hoping to do, especially in childhood leukaemia, can be nothing but a good thing. I have done charity races to raise money for leukaemia research which makes me feel like I am helping in some small way. If everyone did a little bit, it would make a big difference.
