Why is the east coast so anti-Hollywood and conservative?

It really is, if you even look remotely "californian" however that's supposed to look, in many of the eastern states, people will just make you feel left out. They'er so old school and conservative, value old money, old things. NYC perhaps changes that to a degree, but the east coast is so very surprisingly closed-minded.

You'd think it wouldn't be, but it's VERY conservative, whereas

Hollywood is more flamboyant, crazy, and I don't want to say trashy but,..it's just all over the place, where everything and anything goes.

Why is there such an anti-Hollywood stance?

Hollywood seems to put out mindless dribble. We east coasters value intellect more. We are more conservative. Also Hollywood seems to be all business and that's not how we are on the east coast. We are into culture and feeling intellectually stimulated. We are not so easily entertained. We value education, hard work, and being thoughtful. We see Hollywood as being anti-education and not very thoughtful. In general and this is just one east coaster's opinion even though I use "we". It is just my opinion for whatever it is worth. I was born and raised on the east coast, up north.

edit: Mr.M: We have overtaxation, stupid laws, and crazy politicians too. I guess maybe that's why we do have some people in California working in Hollywood.
