CCCP Russia question about a shirt to wear?

A friend of mine sent me a cute tee that says CCCP. I realize that CCCP refers to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), however, I am not sure if this is considered offensive to anyone. I was considering wearing it on a flight tomorrow to New York, NY. Any insight is helpful. Thanks.

I believe that the CCCP is just another interpretation of the USSR title as a country. its ok to wear, have a safe trip mamacita.
