How difficult is it to get into Cal Poly San Luis Obispo?

I am in junior college for one more year which means it's time to start applying soon. I have fairly decent grades, 3.5ish roughly, was a 4 year baseball letterman in high school, but form what I've heard, Cal Poly SLO is a tough school to get into, do I have a chance or should I be looking somewhere else?

I will be applying to a few other schools dont think Im not Im just curious

UFC fighter Chuck Liddel has a degree in Accounting from there.........so if that answers your question........if not i think you will not get in..

Fluid Recovery Drink Founder, David Brown. An Interview

Fluid Interview with David Brown, Owner/Founder Fluid Recovery Drink

Q1: What is Fluid?

Fluid is an all natural muscle recovery drink specifically designed to help your body start the recovery process after a workout.

Q2: What about Fluid that makes it unique?

Fluid is unique primarily because it is not only scientifically sound, but also very tasty. We took the latest research in recovery nutrition and made a powdered drink mix that is easy to drink, easy on the stomach, and incredibly effective at helping our bodies repair. Fluid is also completely natural with no added preservatives, colors, flavors, or sweeteners.

Q3: What are the key ingredients?

Fluid is a specific blend of Carbohydrates and Protein in the right ratios to help with rapid digestion and absorption of nutrients into the blood. The 4:1 ratio of Carbohydrate to Protein has been shown in many peer reviewed scientific experiments to be the optimal ratio in moving both glucose and amino acids into the blood quicker than either of them alone.  Our Carbohydrate source is primarily maltodextrin with just a splash of fruit sugar to give it some sweetness. The Protein is ultra pure whey protein isolate which is lactose and milk-fat free. Finally, we add 2.5grams of L-Glutamine which is a wonderful amino acid to help prevent muscle soreness by fighting inflammation. It also feeds our immune system. We top off the cocktail with sodium, potassium, and vitamin C. That's it. Clean, simple, and affordable.

Q4: How about Calories?

Good question. We have 128 calories with about 25 grams of carbohydrate and 8 grams of protein. 7 grams of the carbohydrate comes from sugar, the rest from starch.

Q5: Why only 128 calories, some recovery drinks have 2 or 3 times that much?

We believe that a recovery drink should be lighter, because it is then absorbed faster. We feel that we have enough calories to make a dramatic impact on your recovery. Once you begin adding to much protein, or too many calories the digestion and absorption rates drop quickly. Would you rather have 128 calories into your blood within 10 minutes, or 400 calories into your blood in 60 minutes? We believe faster is better, because we want the calories in your body quickly. Then go eat real food! You don't need to waste good whole food calories in your recovery drink.

Q6: How and why did you come up with the formula?

Richard Smith and I designed the product as part of a senior thesis at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I was studying Nutrition Science, and Richard Exercise Physiology. While I was finishing my MS in Nutrition Science, Rich and I began making this product is small runs for our athletes that we coached. We were both strength coaches during college, and wanted a better product for ourselves, our athletes, and our friends.

Q7: How has the product been received?

We are doing pretty darn good considering the state of the economy, and the fact that neither of us ever took a business class in college. We are currently sold all over the United States at specialty retail locations such as bike shops, tech running shops, and multisport retail. We also have a robust online business that has shipped to 50 states and 12 countries. We are also currently distributed in Peru, Australia, and Ecuador with great success.

Q8: What is the easiest way to purchase the product?

I would check our dealer locator first at http://livefluid.com/Order/FindAStore. That will show you the closest physical store to your house to find the product. After that you can browse our dozens of online retailers, or buy it directly on our website. Also, if your local bike shop does not carry it yet, please ask them to bring it into their store. You would be helping us dramatically!

Q9: What does it taste like?

Actually, it tastes quite good. We come in a tropical flavor, and mixed berry. Both are lightly sweetened, and go down very easy! We also avoid the chalky protein taste by using the highest quality instant protein on the market! Basically, we taste much more like a sports drink then a protein shake, if that makes more sense to you.

Q10: Speaking of sports drinks, is this like Gatorade?

NO! Other then the taste and consistency, it has little similarity in function. We are not in the business of hydrating you and providing energy before or during training. Our product has one purpose, and that is to provide your body with exactly what it needs following a workout to help it repair. We are all about recovery!

Q11: If you could sum the product up into one sentence what would you say?

Geez, put me on the spot…   Here it goes: Fluid is healthy nutrition tool that helps you get the maximum benefit from your training while also enjoying what you love every single day.
