How much Clothes would you let your 12 year old daughter have?
how many of each item would you let your 12 year old daughter have? please put a number for each of the following items. btw wears basketball shorts and flip flops a lot
basketball shorts-
bermuda shorts-
capris(denim)-

khaki pants-
camis(wear these a lot)-

short sleeve shirts-
3/4 sleeve shirts-

tennis shoes(plays a lot of sports)-
flats, heels etc
plays sports alot and wears them in softball volleyball basketball and gym, and depending on the season, usually has 3 practices a week and has to keep at least one pair in gym locker
B-Ballers - 4-5 Name brand ex: Nike or And one (if off brands prob more)
Berm shorts- 2-3
Capris - 4 At least 1 that is a major name brand - Hollister or AE
Sweats - as many as she can handle (I mean honestly - I lived in sweats as a teenage girl, so I cant put a number on this one) Probably 10-12
Jeans - 5 or 6 and only 2 that are MAJOR NAME BRANDS ; Buckle, AE Hollister - and only one of those can be ripped to shreads - the others I would choose Old Navy (cheeper and they last a season or two and then she can update her style)
Khaki pants - 2 ( I hate khakis personally,) both would prob be Old navys or maybe even a cute wal mart pair
Cami's - one in every color and 2 in black white and pink
short sleeve shirts (like T's) about 10 or so - only a few name brands - the others should be solids that can be worn with other stuff....nothing too cheeky....like tinkerbell on it or tootsie roll stuff or some thing that makes it soooo noticeable that she wears it every week
Tank tops - maybe 3....dont need that many and too revealing they are too memorable.....people remember that all shes wearing is tanks
3-4 lenght shirts - 3 or 4
long sleve shirts - prob 4-5 - versatile and can layer well, I would do really nice ones
Hoodies - 2 - high dollar name brand ones DG, SJean, Tommy or Nikes
Flips - 5 or so depending on price not more than 2 that are REALLY pricey
Tennis - Geeze 4-5 (Im a mom and usually have about 5 good tennies that I rotate depending on the activities of the day) - my sons live in about 4 different tennis every day! lol
Flats heels and other "cutsie" shoes - I go by price with my daughter....I say Ok you have about a 100 price limit on your "cutsie" shoes a year.....if she wants to go out and buy some retarded pair of glittery slip ons well then thats it......one pair of glittery slipons....but if she wants to hit up BOGO at payless and buy 4-5 pairs for summer and then again in the fall thats fine with me.
Now mind you - I have 4 kids and we do lots of bargain shopping My teenagers even know the drill.....for 2 weekends we bargain shop at thrift stores and look to see what we can find.
*We NEVER buy damaged or stained
*We NEVER purchase anything that looks WORN OUT
*We NEVER purchase anything that is not a major name brand....if I can buy it at Wal mart or Target for 6 dollars, then WHY am I buying it at Goodwill for 99 cents - and its WORN? lol
*All Items must be of a 20 dollar value or more if purchased new - that way we are saving
After that - we hit the malls and stores like Ross and Stein Mart and such for all the things we didnt find at the thrift stores.
My sons have become quite good at this so has my daughter - one of my friends made a comment to me the other day..."oh, Im not like YOU, I dont get all her stuff at Limited" LOL later my daughter said...mom, what is limited? WE NEVER shop at limited but all her clothes is limited brand (via goodwill on the southside!) LOL
