How can i get a date for an Amos Lee concert?
Ok, I'm a big fan of Amos Lee, and I'm buying two tickets for his July 22nd show in Columbus, Ohio. Hoping I can find someone to go with, but I haven't met ONE woman who likes his music. Any Ideas?
You and I are in the same boat. I just recently moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Kansas City, Missouri. I know no one here and the people I have met aren't that hip to Amos. I have until August to find me a date. But, to be completely honest I think I may have more fun going solo. I always do!
I have this policy. If there is something that I am really interested in I usually go it alone. I do not want someones bad mood, bad hair day, or even bad taste in music to impede on my good time. The last time I went to an Amos Lee show I met so many amazing people, Amos himself included. I doubt I would've had the same good time if I took my temperamental best friend.
Still, if you are not ready to go it alone. You could always place an ad on Craigslist. Make sure you place the ad in the Strictly Platonic section(trust me). Also, this would be a great opportunity to impress that girl you've had your eye on but have yet to ask out......
GOOD LUCK

Crystal Bowersox " Bobby Mcgee " Gets Rave Reviews For Her Performance Of " Me And Bobby Mcgee " On " American Idol "
Performed by "American Idol" contestant Crystal Bowersox, 'Bobby McGee' was 'as good as Pink's version,' according to 'American Idol's' Simon Cowell. Crystal Bowersox received a strong round of applause following her performance of "Me and Bobby McGee" made famous by Janis Joplin and composed by Kris Kristofferson. The show aired Tuesday March 23, 2010 and included a collection of what many felt were otherwise largely lackluster "American Idol" renditions.

'American Idol's' other judges were equally amazed by her overall performance. Bowersox mentioned that she had big ideas regarding her appearance the following week if she were to continue to the next round. Responding to judge Kara DioGuardi's advice that she may want to sing with out her guitar at some point and truly let go, the vocalist suggested that in the event that she continues for one more week on the program, that is possibly what she might just do.
Clearly, one of the best parts of this "American Idol" episode, which had been focused on tunes that had reached number one on the pop music charts, was Crystal Bowersox's presentation. Equipped together with her trusted acoustic guitar as well as her disarming vocal style, she sang "Me and Bobby McGee," which got to the top of the Hot 100 songs in Billboard magazine in 1971.
Although Joplin's rendition continues to be the standard, "Me and Bobby McGee" has also been covered by numerous musicians, such as country and western legends Johnny Cash and Kenny Rogers, rock and roll icons Melissa Etheridge and The Grateful Dead, and pop stars Olivia Newton-John and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The version of the song by Pink is found on the "Live in Europe" DVD, and also Tori Amos has sung it live in concert.
Bowersox's adaptation represents the very first time that "Me and Bobby McGee" has been performed on "American Idol," although tracks originally recorded by Janis Joplin have appeared five occasions previously. Nikki McKibbin, Carrie Underwood and Asia'h Epperson were amongst the "Idol" contestants which have sung "Piece of My Heart," whilst Allison Iraheta performed Joplin's "Cry Baby" this past season.
